in the morning

i wake up slowly in the morning

when you’re with me in the bed

as i open up my eyes and let

the dreams escape my head

wrapping lazy legs around you

planting kisses on your face

you begin to press against me

in response to my embrace

the coolness of the night

no longer lingers on my skin

as the passion of the morning

heats the state of love we’re in

your sleepy arms surround me

and there’s nothing left to do

but to love you and to love you

’til i’m full of loving you

the morning pulls the sun up

slowly drying all the dew

but i lay here wet and happy

’cause i’m full of loving you

(written to my second husband…obviously early in the marriage.)

I am retired from the public school system. I create magic wands and spells, write mediocre poetry and the occasional freelance magazine article; research local history and family genealogy; I’m an activist and keep in touch with friends, family and archenemies on Facebook, Twitter, What’s App and Word Press. I'm a Fiipina-Cajun troublemaker and trickster. I'm feeling as invincible as Keith Richards these days. Fuck is my favorite word.
