Taking It Back

(Dear God: You know who this goes to.)

I’m taking it back

those things you stole from me

I’m taking back the trust

that was ruined by your lust

and

the innocence

of a ten year old heart

the simplicity

of a ten year old life

the purity

of a ten year old soul

and the uncomplicated

honesty of

ten year old relationships

I’m taking back

self-love

self-confidence

self-determination

I’m taking back my peace of mind

and you, poor bastard,

you can have all the shit

I’ve carried with me

all these years

so that it can burn with you

in hell

I am retired from the public school system. I create magic wands and spells, write mediocre poetry and the occasional freelance magazine article; research local history and family genealogy; I’m an activist and keep in touch with friends, family and archenemies on Facebook, Twitter, What’s App and Word Press. I'm a Fiipina-Cajun troublemaker and trickster. I'm feeling as invincible as Keith Richards these days. Fuck is my favorite word.
